National Center of Quality Inspection and Testing on Energy Efficiency and Safety of Electrical Appliance is the first national inspection center on product tests, standard establishment, quality arbitration, energy-efficiency and safety evaluation among quality inspection institutes. It is also among the first group of IECEE-CB laboratories domestically.

The center owns world-class test lab of room-type calorimeter using beat balance, test lab for multiple-split air conditioners, standard full anechoic chamber, EMI receiver, color TV digital testing system, etc.. As a recognized CBTL laboratory in China, it can accredit and issue CB test reports on electrical products in 12 fields of CAP,CONT,E3, HOUS, INST, LITE, MISC, OFF, PROT, SAFE, TOOL, TRON. It can also issue PSE reports on 52 products in 7 fields, namely fuses, wiring devices, transformers, electric appliances, electric power application devices and other AC electrical mechanical devices.

The center is staffed by IECEE international peer assessors and Shanghai Famous Brand Association experts, and is deputy director of CNCA-TC03 Committee, Deputy Secretary-General of TC418 Committee, the leader of CQC technological inspection committee WG1. It is also a member of SAC/TC79/SC2 Committee, EMC expert group, TC8、TC44、TC114、TC152 technological committee.

The testing capabilities cover: audio and video equipment, information technology equipment, PV products, chemical substances inspection of household appliances and electronic products, electronic components and accessory devices, batteries, motor-operated electric tools, cameras, vehicle-use electrical devices, environmental labeling products, material testing, environmental testing for electrical products, EMC measurements, etc..

Testing capabilities for CCC:

audio and video equipment, information technology equipment, plugs and socket-outlets for household and similar purposes, appliance couplers for household and similar general purposes, thermal fuses and cartridge fuse-links of miniature fuses, and telecommunication terminals, modems, faxes, fixed telephone terminals, electrical accessories installation boxes and enclosures, etc..

Testing capabilities for CQC:

computers, single output AC - DC and AC -- AC external power supplies, fax machines, printers, digital multifunctional office equipment, copiers, scanners, monitors, electric outlets and converters, electric water heaters, color TVs, broadcast receivers, household refrigerators, variable speed-controlling room air conditioners, FPD, digital television receivers, room air conditioners, etc..

The testing capabilities for energy efficiency certification:

household refrigerators; microwave ovens; washing machines, room air conditioners, automatic electric rice cookers, electric fans, ,variable speed-controlling room air conditioners, electromagnetic stoves, electric water heaters, solar water heaters, printers and fax machines, computer monitors, digital TV receivers, FPD, copiers, microcomputers, unitary air conditioners, etc..

The testing capabilities for China Environment Labeling:

household microwave ovens, household refrigerating appliances, room air conditioners, electrical washing machines, printers, faxes & multi-functional machines, color TVs, broadcast receivers, micro computers, and monitors.

The testing capabilities for RoHS Certification：

whole-set products (computer products, household electronic products, communications equipment products), component products (electronic component products of computers or display devices, electronic component products of printing devices connected with computers, electronic component products of mobile phones or telephones), parts and components (electronic components, electronic products, electronic information products), materials (base materials of electronic products, electronic information products).

The testing capabilities for industrial products production licenses issuing inspection: RMB discriminators (counting machines), electric blankets, etc.

Scientific & Technological innovations

The center is responsible for drafting dozens of compulsory or recommended standards, and has won the first prize of “National Electric Power Reform and Innovation Achievements”. Several papers were awarded Shanghai Standardization Superior Academic Prizes. It also has two invention patents and two utility model patents.
